OUR TEAM

HorseSensing is lucky enough to have an enthusiastic group of people wanting to pass the knowledge of their lifetime on to others.

SALLY BRODER, PSY.D.
Executive Director

Sally Broder, Psy.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is also a lifelong horsewoman. Sally began her professional equine career at the age of 15. She went to work for a horse trainer in Rancho Sante Fe, California and spent the next several years working with beautiful show horses. Even back then, she felt the healing power in horses and was developing ideas about how to pass this to others. Several years later she embarked on her career in the fields of, first, substance abuse treatment then more broadly clinical psychology and the treatment of trauma. She brings together her knowledge and skill of both psychology and horses with HorseSensing.

“There are three things people need to change their lives, walk a new healthy path and stick with it-hope, purpose and a sense of belonging. Working with horses gives a person all three. Horses are magic!” –Sally Broder, Psy.D

Brady Moore

As a horse trainer, I’ve always believed in the powerful, unspoken connection between humans and horses. Having faced many personal trials myself, I discovered that working with horses helped me heal, grow, and find peace in ways nothing else could.

Being a horse trainer has also given me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of breeds—Quarter Horses, Tennessee Walkers, Pasos, Friesians, and now Saddlebreds. Each breed has taught me something new, helping me become a more well-rounded horseman. I’ve also had the chance to meet some incredible people along the way.

That’s why becoming a part of Horse Sensing here in Shelbyville, Kentucky—a nonprofit dedicated to serving veterans and those recovering from addiction—felt like a natural calling. This work allows me to give back and help others find the same strength and clarity I found through equine therapy. There’s no better place for me to be.
